I know my pads are wearing low but I've had no warnings on dash until this came up today and it looks like the wear warning wires are all in tact. What does it actually say when pads start wearing low or is this the message and I shouldn't be worried

Isn't this the usual message to state pads are low (just checked and they are)

Last few days third brake lamp message has come up and no leds working nit sure if this is linked. Reading on net I think maybe the dodgy wire to left in boot as rare for all leds to go....

faulty brake light switches can cause simlier issues ive read. But you really need to get the codes read.

Yes just because the light has come up doesn't mean it's the sbc pump , on my occasion it was !!!!! But could be something else fingers crossed it's a wiring issue for you , but as merc85 has said, best to get it checked , good luck

Thanks guys will get it read.
The third brake light issue isn't linked I think as that's been on a few days.from reading up there's two routes to sort it. Either wire repair (fingers crossed) or led unit is faulty and it's best to replace with the revised one from a newer w211

See printout from diagnostic guy
Need to get the sbc reset I'm told

Confirmed today that I need a new sbc unit
Merc quoting 1100plus vat
I've tried a few companies for reconditioning but no one is saying a concrete yes they can do it

Advice would be appreciated

To be honest it will hurt the pocket... Considering the importance of being able to stop I think this probably isn't the area to economise.
