C350 CDI (W204) & VW Golf TDI (Runabout).
Some of you might have seen my post about picking up a car where I thought the mileage had been messed around with, after doing some hard background checks I was satisfied that there was no issue.

So I picked up the car, and have been pootling around in it for the past few days, and I love it, black leather interior, 7 speed gearbox, SatNav, heated seats, and bi xenon directional headlights, and it moves. Haven't used the manual mode yet, as its something I've never experienced, but shall have a play on a clear road.

So service is required on the car, and I've been told its a B service and also needs Fuel and Air filters doing.

So far I've been quoted around £466 from Autoclass in Milton Keynes, Mercedes themselves quoted me 531, but said air filters don't need doing yet.

Any other recommendations for quotes?

I'm considering getting the MB Service Plan, they state that it also covers the gearbox oil when its due.

What are peoples thoughts?

I work in Milton Keynes, so MK and surrounding area's would be great.

Also I'll need to get the front discs and brakes done in a few months, what do people recommend, I've seen a few state they are using the EBC Red Stuff pads, but are there any recommendations on discs?

Thanks guys.

I've used P J Hodge in Northampton and very please with their work.

EBCs website has a pad selection tool, I think GreenStuff Brake Pads for road use are recommended. Red are more track pads and may take time to warm up

Obvious question regarding brake pads and discs is what are you trying to achieve that the oem parts don't deliver?

Not trying to achieve anything to be honest, just wondering what people think, if OEM are as good, then I'll stick to OEM, but if another combo is recommended, then that's what I'll go with.

Oem brake discs and pads for MB cars are generally well priced, so that would be my recommendation if you're not searching for different performance.

ATE Ceramic pads and EBC Greenstuff have an advantage with less brake dust onto the alloy wheels. I am pleased with my ATE pads which work well from cold, appear to have little wear(now into a third year @ 6500pa! plus original discs) and virtually no dust that you could see!

240+vat for a B1 on a 58 W204 C220CDI from ACMS Walsall.

Yeah, they seem to know what they are doing, and I probably will go with them, Just wanted to make sure there wasn't anyone any better out there.
