Shock price of a steering joint

A lovely little older lady I know (My mum) has just been quoted £484 (without labour) for a double sleeved universal steering joint for her 1999 A160 which I sold her a while back. The steering makes a slight knocking noise when the wheel is turned one way then the other by a small amount. Apparently this is a common fault on the A class.

Does anyone know what this part is and what the price should be?

Any advice on this issue greatly appreciated.
