Should I continue 99T C43 MB Warranty?

Hi Guys,

New here so pleased to meet you all.

I recently purchased a 99T C43 with full MB history with 70K on the clock (it's a beaut with 2 owners)

I inherited an MB warranty which expires in May. Cost to renew is £950.

My question is that should i renew this when May comes, or is it a false economy?

I was in the same position with my w202 a couple of years ago.....I decided against the MB waranty due to the cost and went with Warantee Direct. Worked out to be about £300 per year and covers most of the mechanics.

Ive already used them once on the Gearbox speed sensor and had no probls re payout and the work was done by an official Merc dealer.

As long as the car has not covered over 100K Miles and has FMBSH

Also suggest you get the car thoroughly checked over before it expires.

have checked with WarrantyDirect and they quote £600 as opposed to MB's £950.

Now I have something to consider....

Warranty checkover

To get the car checked over, do i need to book it in for a service? The car is not due one until October, and the warranty expires in May...

Id get the car checked over by a very good Independant specialist before the warantee expires.
Where in the country are you ?

I'm in London - I'd send it to Merc to get it checked over. Question is - would that be as a service or as a "check"?
