Hi
I recently took the broken plastic lever out of the gear selector after getting the car stuck in park. I have not yet put one back in as I'm thinking of putting in the alloy version from Australia, currently driving without one
The car drives fine, however when both of the plugs that goes to the brake switch is connected the brake lights are on permanently
If I remove the one which I believe to go to the gears selector ithe brake lights work fine.
I assume thus is because without the plastic lever from the gear selector being present it thinks my foot is permanently on the brake. It also seems to have created a service brake warning lamp
Many of you must have taken this clip out before. Are these symptoms after common or do indeed to look at replacing the brake light switch, or furthermore do my service brakes actually need attention
