Hi
Recently bought 2006 SL350.
Boot leaks on both sides water running in over rubber boot seal about 15cm from front edge of boot lid.
Anyone have any suggestion before I take to dealer who suggests replacing the seal as a first off!!!

The dealer will charge you an absolute fortune for the new seals and it is unlikely to cure the leak. The rubber seals at the bottom of the C pillars need sealing with either Loctite black silicone sealant or CT1. Also the seal at the base of the rear window will need sealing too. I have done my C pillars and my boot is totally dry. Make sure you attend to this soon as if the boot fills up with water with water your PSE pump will go pop and cost you several hundred to replace. Also ensure the water drains are kept clear. How to fix the seals can be found on the 'other' forum here:

Thanks very much for your help. If the rain ever stops I will investigate your suggestions. Currently catching the water with a chamois on either side of the boot to avoid water getting to electrics etc!John
