Was very surprised to find out yesterday that the cost of a pair of front discs for the cars above (same part number) is a mere £130.

However, the front brake pads per pair is £340!

Even so, £470 for front discs and pads on an AMG ain't too bad.

We have 8 piston calipers .. with 360mm discs

I was told by MB that brake replacements were the achillies heel of Service Plus on AMG cars. They were paying out left right and centre!

Bobby, they wouldnt give out service plus on AMG cars when i asked.

c240sport97, go for genuine disks and redstuff pads :) they take a little modifying to fit properly but are pretty good after the 100 mile wear in stage

am on my second AMG, and I have never found them that much more expensive to service and maintain than non AMGs .. yes, more thirsty, but that's pretty much it apart from the odd expensive disc or air filter now and again

my car has only done 27k miles, discs and pads all round are fine.

only reason I know about price is that someone on PH posted an eBay "bargain" set of front discs for my CLS .. was going to buy it to keep as I thought they were about £500 a pair ...

luckily I checked, the "bargain" was RRP, plus you then had to pay £12 postage
