Ive just bought a set of 17" AMG 5 spoke alloys that need a slight re furb. They are all 7.5" wide, the question is, what size tyres to go for?

The 16" on at the moment have 225/50 x 16s all round.
Do I go for 225/45s all round or as some SLKs have 205/55s on the front I could go smaller on the front?
Options are -
205/50 x 17 front & 225/45 x 17 rear or
225/45 x 17 front & 225/45 x 17 Rear or
225/45 x 17 front & 245/40 x 17 rear - assuming 245s will fit 7.5" wide rims?

Then tyre choice, having to buy all four I dont want to go premium but thinking Falken / Avon??
I have 1 Continental with over 6mm so may get a used conti with approx 6mm to match & then 2 new ones??

225/45 x 17 all round.
Personally I would buy new mid range tyres rather than used premium tyres. If you need convincing Autoexpress did a write up 2-3 weeks ago.
