Anyone know or read what mpg this vehicle does at 208mph? Is it theoretically calculable?

Don't know .... but .....

I remember Clarkson saying on his Veyron drive, that the tank would be good for 12 minutes of flat out drive , i think that had a 100 litre tank or something ....

So, the SLR isn't that thirsty i don't imagine but i'd be surprised if you got more than 20 mins of fuel flat out ... i suppose you could guesstimate it from there .... but you need to find out the fuel tank size ....

don't know but I was in stuttgart last month for the release of the new 'E' class which involved back to back testing and hammering a handful of the new cars round the test track.

When we had finished the MB drivers went back out and there was a new CL and an SLR..

The SLR sounded like a wellington bomber taking off.

I've driven the latest CL65 and numerous SL55's but nothing quite sounds or accelarates like the SLR, its flippin awesome

Tank size is 21.5 gllns. Don't think I'm going to find it out just like that, so estimating therefore 4mpg (guess it won't b lower than say 3) + u'r talking 21.5*4=86mi on a tank therefore @ 206mph 86/206 = 25 mins...

Is there a formula given the weight, bhp etc?

Didn't JC say it would empty the tank in 8 or 18 mins when he raced to other 2 to Oslo?

Why? Are you thinking of buying one? ;)

And if so why do you care about fuel consumption.

Hang on, I get it, you want to know how long the police chase will last in a stolen one before you run out of fuel.

But you wouldn't need to max it in a chase , i don't think plod has much that will go over 160 mph ....

Unless you count the chopper .......

It's to make a PC simulator more realistic. I can't drive for an hour @ 206mph if the fuel runs out after 18 mins (there is no fuel-usage parameter therefore one has to virtualise the stop for fuel at an appropriate time).

Dude ....

You have too much time on your hands .....

:D I once thrashed the living daylights out of the old 3.5 ltr Range Rover for just over an hour and averaged 8 mpg!!!!!! Glad I wasn't paying for the fuel.:o :o

I just wonder if it would make sense thrashing an SLR?? Slowing down for the fuel stop, refuelling, queueing to pay, then rejoining the road again. Would it be better to cruise at a slightly lower speed to get more economy\distance??

Not really.

With an SLR I guess you can pay for a (FAST) Shell Tanker to follow you around!

:D :D No, they would be strategically placed and you would refuel on the move
