Smart Engine?

It's is the rules. You must get it mapped.

Given the exhaust pipe that's on it, I'm guessing it has been mapped... I'd love to find a way to make the gear changes just that little bit faster. (it's semi-automatic - but no paddles... yet). Any suggestions?

It's not been remapped. It just sounds louder than normal due to the exhaust being non-OEM. Original OEM one had a hole so needed replacement.

Changing up - not sure much can be done about that.
Changing down - as you slow down change gear manually, rather than leave it to automatically decide

Hope you enjoy the car.

Yes there is. A map will help loads with gear change as well as the clutch, and gear change motor calibration. It's hardly ever done but improves gear change quite a bit.

What's the mileage? At 40,000 it's quite likely it will need a clutch as they don't last long. Worn clutches tend to add to a gear change issue.

It's up to 56k - so if the clutch needs changing I'll get it remapped at the same time. It's due for a service at some point, so I'll get them to have a look. So far, I'm thinking of using S2-smart as they aren't on the other side of the country from me and seem to have a reasonable reputation.

Will - enjoying the car very much, feels like a gokart while zipping about (I've decided that Worf, my dog, is utterly unimpressed though - this morning he sat in front of the passenger door as to say "I'm not getting in the boot again").

Been trying to fit the omnifi for the last few hours... Never really thought of how the lack of a traditional boot affects finding somewhere to hide a HDD! I'm planning to put it under the seat now, but my issue is finding somewhere to put the control pod. Above the mirror seems ideal, but cable routing becomes an issue. Going to take another crack at it soon (stopped to grab a cold one, whinge about my skinned knuckles, and get told off by SWMBO about wasting my time with the cars instead of cleaning up the house)

M.
