To celebrate this occasion I decided that a spring clean was in order. I am taking out a very nice girl in the car for our second date and want the car all nice too....

I spend the morning cleaning it (I love having Mondays off work) and I think it looks fab. I used a brand of car wax called Colinite. I even put some elbow grease into it. All the jokes will no doubt follow about how I drive about in an unwashed filthy car befitting of its owner but no more!!!!

Unfortunately winter has taken its toll and there are a lot of stonechips on the bonnet (about 20) and on the wings, doors etc. Before this winter it was not nearly so bad but with the roads breaking up and loose stones about its really done a lot of damage to what was a spotless car. All those dots in the pic above are chips!!!!

Much much better, you'll notice it's easier to keep that way too. Ideal for those last minute moments ;)

it was hard work but it buffed up well. Key is not to apply too much. If its easier to clean thats great for me, not one for hard work :D:D:thumb:

And let it dry in too :)

How many bits of wax have you left on? :p

Looks great.
Let me have the young lady's number so I can let her know how hard you worked :)

So there will be a couple of white ribbons tied round the star before long?

And do we get to meet her at Stirling? :bannana:

Actually. I think I know her. She said she'd much prefer a bloke with a 320.

Heaps probably. Did let it dry.

Hopefully she'll come along, time will tell.

Looks lovely :thumb:

Can recommend you to buy Autoglym High Definition Wax. Easy to apply and buff off. No residue either. Works a treat!

Will give that a try. This was a good wax so will use all of it, didnt seem to take much but £25/tub ouch. Does look good but now I am aware of every little chip it has. Had so few when I bought it but 35k miles and 2 years have taken their toll.

Wow, that looks great Steve. :thumb:
Must've been cold out there it was here today. :(

I worked up a sweat :o:o

....and here was me giving myself and my cars a bath every week and you clean yours annually whether it needs it or not...:o
Looks much better now, how did you remember what was under there:rolleyes::dk:
