i have added it to the ad trader too, i thinks its in there tommorrow.
I have added it to ebay as well, but its not started yet, as i needed to set up my account again and now awaiting it to be sorted out;)

Joby,

Blackbeast might I suggest you join the IAM or take a RideDrive course, or the ROSPA driving course?

Its only £90 for the IAM course and what they'll teach you will stop this from happening again.

hi,
what is iam? or the others? thanks, or is this another p**s take?

Thanks.

Joby.

Im sorry but are you saying that im in need of more drivering lessons? lol

Im sorry ive nerver heard of it, but what will this course do for anyone?

Just because i had a bump dosent mean i need extra lessons in "how to" does it.

Who has had a bump before, are you saying we all need to do this?? lol

Thanks
Joby.

Yep we all probably do need it -

oh i did come over to you last weekend in a discovery, and nearly rolled the bugger reversing out of your works entrance back up the hill to pull away forwards down the hill

That would have put the icing on the cake I would have thought.

Years ago I also used to convince myself that the accidents I had were a result of some mysterious force acting on my vehicle causing it to be attracted to high value motor cars . In later years and after nearly killing myself on a couple of occasions I have now realised that the common factor was the driver - In my case I learned hard and well because I could only ever afford 3rd party insurance because I kept breaking cars.

Do take the trouble to get what happened straight in you mind before you fill in the claim form - otherwise the insurers will have breakfast with you -

And one last thing , make sure your Cavalier doesn't fall off the jack next time you do a 160 MPH flypast, and make sure you lift both wheels off the ground.

IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) As it's name says, it's a company that teaches advanced driving skills and gives drivers better awareness and driving ability, well worth the money OMHO, Passing can reduce insurance premiums as well

i am not sure he needs that as a result of his driving.
he can have it if he just wants to do so as adviced as it is a nice thing to have but a lot of people have accidents and do not rush of to take IAM lessons.

IAM drivers do not tend to drive at a speed that means they cannot stop within the distance they can see to be clear ahead.

The title you gave to this thread would suggest you'd be well advised to investigate such courses.

So you must have taken the IAM Driving Course and i bet you have never had an accident and that would be because you are an IAM Member i suppose.

Get off your soap box.

You're the one that created a soap box mate. The driver of the Astra had done absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever, but you still called him a tw@.

Driving around that bend and still hitting the Astra at 20-25mph demonstrates how poorly you were driving. An experienced and careful driver wouldn't have hit the vehicle, full stop.

On second thoughts, don't bother with any advanced driving courses. The first step to becoming a better driver is to realise that your driving skills could be improved. From the sound of things you don't think that applies to you, perhaps when you do it again and hit a pedestrian you'll reconsider. Or perhaps the next time the Astra will be doing the same speed as you, and you'll be typing from hospital.

Its your choice - your skill level:

Ahem - Blackbeast was the driver of the car that was involved in the accident, not Peter (C43AMG).

I was an IAM instructor, and i do accept your apologies.

Have you read the whole thread? One that signs off as Barge Driver

You also should  out OK.

mmm...

thanks c43amg and MBManInKen
but Parrot of doom, i dont think i need to do any new courses thank you, i am a driver with at least 12 yrs drivering experience, and had one prang!
The discovery was a totaly different situation all together! as its a 4x4 and bit of fun for the off roading type, i tryed to reverse out of his works and felt a 4x4 experience in doing it! thats all mate.

The white van WAS INFACT doing somthing wrong, and that was.. he were parked blocking a road on a slite bend that could only fit one lane of traffic due to parked cars and decided to pull away as i came into view with him!
He shouldnt of pulled up there, to of got out of his veichle on a bend! even if it was only for a minute or less!

Joby.

Ps.. sorry forgot to add that, isnt your picture of the car sitting abit lady like in your post? high n above the rest? suits you sir! if its yours, get it slammed and it will look alot nicer, my thoughts only tho, looks abit poodle like you know the tall leggerd ones,
Really im adding this to say that at an age of muturity, such one should'nt like to boast about a car against another in such a way you have.

I don't think that's Parrot's car. Looks like a 'library' pic of a US C43 :)

Apologies to you mate, I didn't read properly and presumed you were responding as the OP.

Sorry for that.

I sign off as a barge driver because my car is a barge. My previous car was a TVR Chimaera, so you can perhaps see where I'm coming from ;)

Perhaps not but that is completely irrelevant to you hitting him. You should never presume that the road ahead is clear unless you can see that it is so.

What if the Astra had been doing the same speed as you, on his side of the road, while you, approaching from the other direction at an inappropriate speed, were driving on the wrong side of the road?

What if it had been a cyclist? That cyclist would very likely be dead now. Would he be a tw@?

BTW, I don't think you're one to talk about ride height, looking at my last car at least: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:TVR_Chimaera_profile_starmist_blue.jpg

yes i aggree that you should not persume, but it was clear untill we met!

i wernt drivering on any wrong side of the road! i had to pass parked cars and was already passed 4 parked cars as we met on the bend!

No he would'nt of been a tw@! as he would'nt of taken up all the road! or would'nt of left it parked obstructing a road, in a silly place. (in front of a bend)
who is silly enough to get out of a veichle just in front of a bend and leave it unattended, go to see a freind who lives on that bend, then to return to the veichle and pull away? even if it was for a minute or to drop something off!

Ok more to the fact that YOU in such a car SHOULD take extra care as being so low! BTW nice car, Where is it now??

Regards Joby.
