Looks/sounds like a nice car for someone, not bad value either considering how rare the '55 cabs are and the low mileage

Seems that a lot of the rare cars are appearing all of a sudden!

Seen several R129 SL60s and also a couple of W208 CLK55 cabriolets recently.

Looks like it doesn't have the right steering wheel (I thought all AMG CLK55s had leather airbag cover and thumb bulges on the wheel?)

Also the front air dam is not aligned to the wing and on the last photo looks damaged on the left hand side (the slot with the fog lamps in is not parallel).

I did notice the slight gap between the bumper and the O/S/F wing, but to be fair it doesn't look serious. Also noted the tatty floor mats

You're right that it doesn't have the usual '55 AMG leather wheel, but these 208 CLK55 cabriolets were not based upon the CLK55, they were regular 208 cabriolets upgraded to (mostly) '55 spec from what I can gather. A very special order car that wasn't on UK price lists etc - almost an 'unofficial' model it seems.

That's why they're so rare, and hence quite collectable/different. I think I've only ever seen/heard of about five in all the years I've known about them.

Mmm, I have seen RHD UK CLK55 Cabs with the "right" AMG steering wheel. Looking at the damage to the front air dam, other option could be front ended, airbag went off, cost of new AMG one (OMG!!!?!?!), err just replace with common normal wheel.

I thought it was officially imported by MBUK for just 1 year? Could be wrong however, there is very little info around on them.

I recall William Loughran had one when they came out and was trying to sell it for £76k!!!
