Hi,
After a bit of advice. I need a spare key and remote for a A class. I've seen key blanks for sale on e bay but is it easy to get one cut in a local key cutting shop? Also, I've seen remote fobs on also on ebay but they all either need programming or reprogramming. Are these fobs reprogrammable?

Any advice would be welcome.

I have the same question.
No one answered trigger in last 4 years.
I am not holding my breath.

I have a spare remote fob which was programmed (syncronised) for onother car.
I would like to re-program it (syncronise) and use it on my current w124.
Both cars have the same 1995 Mercedes dealer fitted Alarm immobiliser with automatic window shut.
Anyone knows how to program key fob on the cheap.
Hopefully without the need to connect to a laptop/car..etc?
Or, is this impossible?
Thanks

The W168 and W169 a-class remotes cannot be reprogrammed.

Edit: Just realised it is a 4yr old thread! Next time start your own thread instead of bumping a four year old one.

AFAIK re-programming a remote that is programmed to another car cannot be done yourself. In the case of the newer SMART ones it cannot be reprogrammed at all. Dont know about the older ones like your W124 one ask a dealer.

Thanks npuk for the useful information and your admonition when stating "Next time start your own thread instead of bumping a four year old one".
I do not know why you assumed I was talking about A-class while my post mentioned 1995 and W124
I also did mention the fact that it was a 4 year old thread in my first post. I assume you would have read my post before answering.
I was searching for an answer on the forum and to "bump" seemed a better idea.
this was to bring to attention the lack of response to the first and only post by trigger, who obviously gave up posting.
Having said that, I still see your point.
My current car is w124.
The spare key fob is off a w202.
I do not think car models matter.
Both have the same "aftermarket" Mercedes dealer" alarm/immobiliser fitted in 1995.

That’s a Scorpion alarm fob, it would need programming by Scorpion to your W124, if the are willing/ able to do so…a phone call would answer that for you.

You are right Dec.
It is Scorpion. I now remember.
Was Category 1 I think.
I will give it a miss if it is going to cost me more than £50.
I know, I am mean. I have to be. Finances are not good now at all.
