Written speeches are always crap. Work from a set of written prompts on a small card. Thank people. And embarrass the groom by recounting some of his finer moments. Be natural, say it from the heart, and don't witter on too long. I have to speak at a number of conferences at work every year and believe me people appreciate it when you are brief and to the point.

I'll be using the prompt card approach. I'm not too bad at public speaking, but staring at a piece of paper is a big no-no.
