While over in Edinburgh today looking at a couple of BMWs ( yes, I know ) I spotted an abandoned C class in a driveway on Ferry Road, when I looked closer I caught a glimpse of an older car tucked away in the corner. Had a wee look on Google Maps and it's on there too....

Anybody know what it is and whether it would ever see a road again ?

Looks like an old 280SE 3.5 I once owned

Looks like a W114 or W115 (70s E and S class).

Judging by all the other vehicles there, it's fate is to become a large pile of iron oxide.

Late 60's W109 300SEL maybe

It's a shame you can't see if it's got stacked headlights or not

It has,you can make out the chrome ring on the top of the wing.

Like this one.

I only glanced at it over my right shoulder while driving but I'm sure it is as in your pic, non-stacked headlight, it's a busy road, maybe some of our Lothian based members will be familiar with it.

You sure you weren't there to look at that transit?

W114 was the 6 cylinder version and W115 was the 4 cylinder.
Both were equivalent to our modern E Class.

Even worse, was on my way to look at a BMW Z4, fortunately I have managed to admit to myself I'm too fat and tall for one.....

There's 3 Mercs there.
A red one stuffed in the bush on the right hand side of the hedge.

Makes one wonder, if those are 'good' enough to be left outside, what's in the garage ?

Spent half my life driving past that place. The garage at the back of the Tranny used to be a business called Brakes and Belts. Story is that countless guys have been at the door trying to buy that car and all to no avail. Last time I looked I think the windscreen had been tanned in by vandals.
