Starkbierzeit - German Strong Beer Festival - Munich?

Has anyone ever been to Starkbierzeit - German Strong Beer Festival in Munich?

If so, what's it like in terms of atmosphere, fun, and average age of people who you tend to see out?

Mine didn't have to go as he was in a reserved occupation (train driver). Probably just as well, as there was a typo in his call-up papers and he thought he was being sent to France 'to give the nuns a good licking.....'

A friend of mine's father did the same, then married a German, and his son now lives in Nuremburg, which his father had flattened.

Love German beer, not sure it needs extra strength though!
