Steering wheel and seats stolen from Mercedes C63

That's the USA for you:D

We don't mess around in the UK..............the whole car gets stolen:devil:

I dont know, it might be the opposite - some sophisticated anti-thief prevention system.

Rest of it apart from the engine is like a C180 I guess? :)

I had the Recaros taken from my SVX Defender - £4000 EACH to replace.

I think the ethics of parts suppliers needs to be questioned on this sort of thing. What sort of margin are they making at these crazy prices? Its taking advantage of misfortune.

There was an article done by a magazine some time ago about the cost of building a vw golf by ordering the parts seperately.

Well over £100k in parts

Car to buy new was approx £30k

Exactly, probably needed that color leather seats.

I once had the joy of installing C63 seats into a non-C63 car. I hope that whoever stole those seats isnt stupid enough to try and install them into a typical C-class. The SRS will never go off unless you software recode the SRS unit in a very special way.

Judging from they only stole the drivers seat, it is a safe bet that they will install in a car that has the passenger seat matching which is C63.

I remember Mercedes saying at the launch of the R129 that each seat cost the same to make as a VW Golf !
