Sticky cabriolet roof problem on opening

I have just bought a 2001 320 CLK cabriolet.

The roof gets stuck on opening and needs a little push up at the front each time to start the folding sequence (after the windows have gone down, the back has opened up and the glass is ready to go into the boot).

The push up at the front, whilst holding the button, does the trick and it starts to fold and works ok.

Will I have to do this for ever? Could it be sticky after a long winter and just needs some time? Could I do some sort of lubricating to make the first fold easier?

If anybody has had experience of this I would appreciate some feedback.

Hi

I have a clk cab and yes you do need to push
roof up a little at the beginning, so it is clear
of the header rail.

You just push it up on it's first fold.

This is normal, it tells you to do so in the owners manual.

Ive done this for the few months I've owned my CLK but upon doing it last weekend the roof stopped folding altogether and now won't work...

I too have found this problem, but on my SLK. I don't know whether to live with it or bite the bullet and take it to MB to get it sorted.
