Stolen

If it was stolen to order - you'd have thought if someone could afford the appropriate car for this to fit on - they could afford to buy a measly spoiler for it.

Not if they were skint from paying leasing fees.

Just spoken to the caretaker at the school opposite our house, it was all caught on camera, filled out crime report and video will be sent off to police station. Crimewatch do your work.....

nice one - as you say send it to crimewatch - you might stir plod into action that way
Make sure you get your own copy - plod can lose things

Not sure how they plan to run it then unless they plan on making it a career (which sounds like it will be short-lived hopefully)!

Tell you what though, they had the thing off in 5 mins.

Does anyone know the best way to get the adhesive off, was going to go through Mercedes but I have been quoted in excess of 500 pounds to order and fit. If its easy ill get it from eBay and attempt to install it myself.

Sorry to hear and see this.... what a bunch of w***ers!

why not buy a car cover, as what they cant see they cant take, plus one like the one I have has a padlock on a wire that goes all the way under the belly of the car. Its part of the reason I use a cover so it keeps roving eyes away from the car.

Most likely the lowlife scrote that did that was on his way home from the pub/club and thought it would be a great laugh to ruin someones pride and joy. I feel your pain. Flogging is too good for these *****!
Anything on eBay?
Just a thought but it might be up the road in a garden or an empty bin. It might be worth a try and costs you nothing, still what a pain. If you ever find out who, post his name up here so we can wish him well:rolleyes:

I am sure someone will say no but when I removed my old number plates I used the good wife`s nail varnish remover, the sticky stuff requires a couple of goes but it all came off.

WD40 should take that off

Shocking, I am sure there was a post last week for the same thing, stolen off a C63, Keep an eye on E bay incase one the same as yours comes up....as in its yours!!!

I did that and found one in the same area for sale, then noticed it was cks. Surely not?

Intensive tar remover.

Is it just a simple case of cleaning the surface, then adding some adhesive tape and then sticking on? Anyone know? Apologies for all the questions, am trying to save some dough here.. am in the middle of buying a house so money is a tad tight at the moment.

Thank you again to everyone for your kind words and advice so far

Tell you what, I will never complain about the police, 2 days of house to house and now SOCA are out looking at my car with forensics.... Awesome stuff from the boys in blue.

Mine got nabbed end of July (The one that LeeC63 referred to) but unfortunately no video of it. That's great that the Police are making an effort and hopefully with the video they can catch the scrots that took it. I had a PCSO pop round within 45 mins of me reporting it but nothing since.

I got quoted £786 from Merc Ascot to replace, paint and fit so am going to my Father in laws mates body shop to get a quote instead. Said Father in Law used some alcohol and with a bit of gentle rubbing that lifted some of the adhesive off but I didn't trust it not to damage the paintwork so will leave it on until it gets repaired (black paint so not as obvious as yours).

At that price to fix , there must be a temptation just to have the adhesive removed , paint polished and , if it comes up OK without paint damage showing , just leave it at that without the spoiler .

Even if the bootlid needs painted , it would be a lot less than replacing and painting the spoiler - which might get nicked again anyway - at least with no spoiler there's no danger of a repetition .
