Stolen

I would be inclined to use body trim mastic as it would be a lot harder to remove in future.

I take it wasnt your one off your car then.

Best thing to do is get a second person to help as they can hold it while you guide it into position as said above once it sticks its a bugger to get off again

No proof but it was the same colour and part...who knows....

Another predicament, wife went and ordered one from eBay, carbon fibre one from Taiwan which looks nicer....

carbon all the way, especially on white.

Not overly convinced on the quality from Taiwan but if its ordered... lol

If it was me and the carbon one looks good i would stick that one on.

Have you actually got the carbon one as well. Or waiting for delivery

apply some heat from a hair dryer and slowly start feeling off the adhesive it will come off but just requires patience

If it were me i would definitely go for the carbon one.

Ive got a white c class also so am looking to put some carbon bits on it also.

Thats what i would do. Put the carbon one on if you dont like it take it off and put the white one back on that you brought.

its not so much i wont like the carbon one as it looks pretty nice, especially with alongsidemy black wing mirrors, i just dont want it to be all wonky and bent and come flying off whilst im driving on the M25.

To be honest i would say the carbon one would be easier to fit as it should be stiffer so wont flex as much when your trying to put it on.

As said above the 3m double side tape should hold it if you use enough.

I would say i would help you put it on but i go away on wednesday and am stacked out on tuesday

Unless you want to wait till i get back

thanks for that, im going to give it a try tomorrow and if i **** it up i may call on you..

so i dont need to prep the area before hand? just add some tape to the spoiler, mark up where im going to put it and then put it on? Am reluctant to put it on in case some fcuker comes and nicks this one too! Can i add some adhesive for extra security? Do i need to apply pressure for a little while after its stuck? Apologies for all the stupid questions

just found this on another MB site if anyone is interested..

1- Clean the area with soapy water, remove all dirt, dust and sap. (Car and Spoiler).
2- Thoroughly clean the area with isopropyl alcohol. (Essential do not skip, Car and Spoiler).
3- Spray some adhesion promoter (Optional but recommended, you can find it next to the 3M tape at you local auto shop!, Car and Spoiler).
4- Apply the 3M tape to the spoiler (Do not press super hard).
5- Remove the first 3-4 inches of protective backing from each ends of the 3M tape, tape the backing on top of the spoiler.
6- Line up the spoiler without touching the trunk, then install it.
7- Pull the protective backing from under the spoiler.
8- Press hard (HARDER), all across the length of the spoiler.
9- Let it rest for few hours.

The 3M tape will do the job, apply some pressure when positioned.I would not put any other
adhesive on it,because if you do and someone tries to rip it off again they will take some paint with it.If you want it to be ultra secure drill 3 holes in the boot and fix it with self tappers from the inside.
