Strange Annoying Electric Window Problem 1992 230CE

Hi there,

When you open either the passenger or drivers side door the passenger (LHS) electric window goes down on the motor.

The only way I can stop it happening is to push the up switch while opening the door. If you do this, the window will stop opening once you stop pushing either door.

If the window has opened automatically while opening either door then the switch will function with the ignition off to enable you to close it.

Very annoying any ideas how to fix it please? Or certainly what to check?

If any door is open the window is powered to go up or down. IF the door is shut then the ignition needs to be on. There are switches near the door hinges to sense whether the door is open or not. You problem lies with either
1. door switches
2 window switch faulty ( always on)
3. wiring shorts probably where the wires go between the A pillar and door (the bottom hinge)
