The Blue and Brown wires run the vacuum pump when the boot lock key hole is pushed inwards, provided all doors are unlocked.
Check that this switch is unbroken and is seated in the lock as illustrated in picture, there is nothing you can do to this switch to solve your boot open problem, the fault is likely to be with the vacuum pump or possibly the alarm system, test your alarm here… http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/169666-w202-how-test-car-alarm.html
Try unplugging the vacuum pump for 30 minutes, check that the vacuum pump electrical connections are clean and not corroded.
Don’t slam the boot shut while the vacuum pump is disconnected as the key might not work in the boot lock if it is seized.
Hold the remote fob 2mm from the sensor on the door handle to see if it will lock/unlock the car.
Are the batteries ok within the remote fob?
What year is the car?
