Strange noise on entry (2009 W212)

Hi folks,

Quite regularly as I get in my car (W212 E350 CDi), there's a pronounced 'squawk' (kind of a CB radio-type sound) which appears to come from the passenger side of the dash / glovebox area.

This is simply when I unlock the car (with fob), open door and sit in. It makes the noise for a couple of seconds and then stops.

Everything functions fine. It's not a major concern, just seems strange.

Any ideas / similar experiences?

Door mirror extending related?

Some noises transmit around the body, so where it sounds like may not be where it actually comes from.

Lots of cars do stuff on entry to prepare for launch (our Golf has a little electric pump sound on entry which I suspect is fuel pump related).

A Merc tech would pin it down pretty quickly if it is reproducible (and under warranty!).
