No, thats true, but there's already an 'E55' and '55' badges on the back of cars with no letters look silly ...... ;)

Well, i would call it a 'CE 55' so there :p and when it smokes up the road at 180mph, bystanders would say 'what the hell's that ?' ..... and you could tell them it was a 'CE 55' for me...... ;)

EDIT:- ah, but there are ........ in the middle of the facelift, you could still get the old shape with the new engine, this was called a 220CE and 320CE ......
You just know that someone with a CE73 will cruise past you at 200mph though ;)

What do you reckon the max power you could get out of a '55' Kompressor engine is? 600hp ish ?

Thats more than the 7.3 puts out, and it would weigh less, so it would be a close race.....

Ho hum.....never gonna happen without those 6 numbers......

A right hand drive SL73 AMG

(none made, by all counts :( )

Still remember the first time I saw one of these in Florida, thought it was some bloke having a laugh with numbers on the back of his SL....came home and Googled it.....

Saw one at the AMG factory last year, owned by some Arab bloke - he wanted the latest DVD COMAND installing, to which AMG said "It'll need a new wiring loom", so he just told them to go ahead and do it......

A fair and reasoned argument, Howard. :)

As Shude says, it's your pretend car, you can pretend to call it whatever you want. ;)

Me however, I'd want something a bit less in-yer-face:

With the lottery win you could get a CE55NA...

Not a very big one.

I once worked for a chap who bought a Cessna BusinessJet. He took over somebody else's order and made some changes to the options list.

He added a Playstation. £38,000

He deleted the gold finish to the basin and taps in the washroom. Saved £75,000. Double-

The whole thing cost him just shy of £10m

Mind you, he charged me £6,800 to take some customers to Austria for a day, so I guess that helps pay for it.....

Given that I am easily pleased and do like to have certain amount of rational justification for any car, would settle for a Maybach Excelero. In estate form.

Not too much to ask, I think

What about a Brabus Exelero estate 420CDI that can do 200mpg?
