All the signs of a failed MAF. I just don't know how your Merc specialist didn't pick up on it? Anyway at this stage you may aswell get a new one. Scout around as they vary in price and make sure it's leading brand, if possible get a Bosch.
Do a search, plenty of threads online on several different forums too - it's a common issue. There's a wiring modification from M-B to stop this 'wicking' problem. Have a looK at the writing to the o2 sensor and of course the cam magnet as that's where the problem originates from. Be careful how you remove the oil on the ECU pins. And don't use that M-B specialist again!
Hi . Were i got the car from now has my clk.tried a new ecm on it and it still bringing up the same fault codes. Air recirc flap and the 2c pressure boost switches. Strange.... any ideas please.
HI.
just got my car back only taken 16 weeks. in the end it needed a new ecu as the processor had burnout. Car now drives very well. getting 30 mpg on a run. Could do with a new back box(muffler) fitting to the car just to make it sound better?
After a long battle with the garage who supplied the merc its fixed. The ecu had a burnt out processor. Then they lost it. Then they tried to fit one off an auto with alarm steering lock and other bits to make it work. No good. After a number of phone calls it went to merc in york who fitted a new ecu coded it tested and now working fine. I had fitted new plugs coils air filter air flap 2 boost switches all of these didnt work . Also a cam sensor and 02 sensor and oil blocker. the car now drives like new. hope this helps others with the same problem. No matter what i/we (indie) changed the engine light would come on after a couple of miles after a re-set. Cost of the ecu £722.46 fitted. The garage that i got the car from are the biggest bunch of muppets going. I would not have got the car from them knowing that they couldnt fix it. Please be aware of MIKE NEAL MOTORS OF CASTLEFORD AND LEEDS. THEY ARE COWBOYS STAY CLEAR....:fail
