Subject to approval from work (which I do not anticipate being a problem) I'll be picking up a E220 CDi AvantGarde on an 06 plate next week. Pretty much what I wanted except it's not leather. It's Iridium Silver (Sorry Ian!) with Anthracite and I'll post details later in the week. Also debadged I believe!

Does the panel reckon that 1/2 leather seats in light grey would look good on a silver car? I should imagine that full leather would be very expensive and not come up that often for a W211 in any case.

Got the VIN - anybody online to a MB system to get me the spec? The car is too new to appear on the Russian database
Of course, cost me a new pair of shoes for Mrs. Gollom! :bannana:

Nice  Leather would make a big difference it has to be said though. But half and half is beter than none;)

Sounds good ... Am sure it'll look great :D

Swapping my B this week for a 203 ... why the decision to change yours, just out of interest ?

Mrs Gollom didn't like it at all and avoided driving it wharever possible. And whilst I liked the B-class, somehow it was not a proper Mercedes (if you see what I mean) Lacked that MB presence somehow.

Any comments on Light Grey seats with a silver car please? I guess the centre console would stay Anthracite

Enjoy your W203 - I liked mine a lot.

10,000 flies can't be wrong........ :D

Anyway, won't have to clean as often as a black car!

I hope that's Jimmy Choos

I don't....... Was thinking of another mans name actually

George :p

Lots of E's about in 'standard' spec - esp. AvantGardes. More of the larger engine versions with full leather.

Is this a new revised E? The newer version has a much better engine spec for the 220.

I've got the half leather in mine and it's liveable with (you don't really get to see it if you're sitting no it!). The grey is pretty neutral and inoffensive if a bit dull. At two years old mine has worn well.

I've had very mixed reaction to the B from that point of view - predominantly good, and it has served its purpose well with no real problems (apart from depreciating like a lead weight - mainly due to my silly mileage) - but yes, I agree that the build quality and overall presence of the marque is slightly lacking, having owned a 202.

Have fancied a W203 for a while - really wanted and could almost have stretched to one 5 yrs ago but not quite, so ended up with the 202 - (probably a good thing given the early build quality which seems to have been addressed nicely in the facelift 203 cars).

Looking forward to the 203 though, and hope to keep it for a while.

I think your light grey seats will be fine - they'll probably show the marks & wear a little bit more, but should be good on the E, as the interior is nice and big anyway, and a light colour will add to that effect - be different. Need to see pics really, as not a combination that I've seen.

June 06 so the 150hp engine. Would have liked the newer one or a 270 CDi but budget would not fit. Guess it came down to a car with 22 months warranty left or one with none where I would have had to add the cost on.

It says the car is EU4 - what does that mean?

Damm this living within my means!

We have a B (Mrs Bonzo) and an E. Mrs Bonzo likes the B and so do I but the E is streets ahead.

EU4 means that its prob got a particulate filter to stop that puff of diesel smoke coming out the back of the car under acceleration which is supposed to help the environment.

You never know, you might be able to pick up an interior from a flood damaged one.

EU4 means the oil is slightly dearer than a non-EU4 one...

Good choice, I tried to buy an E220 last year but accidentally got a 270 instead!

Wouldn't be to bothered by leather, yes it commands a premium at resale time but then it also does at purchase time!

I like the light grey interior but can understand why you asked. I'm sure it will look very nice but silver!
