Tech Question. BONNET OPEN

Every so often I keep getting a message that my bonnet is open when its not? I then have to open the bonnet and close it to clear the message. My car is 350SL anyone ot any suggestions? I' thinking the sensor is faulty.

This is a common problem when the dash goes red. The switch is built into the nearside bonnet hinge and cant be seen from the top.

I find that this happens sometimes when The bonnet has been opened and closed and the car not driven, normally I leave the engine running, open and close the bonnet (dropping it from 12") and it goes away

If one could see it,it would help, no promises but if I can find the details I will put them up

If you listen you can hear it in the nearside hinge,and clicks just before it closes, good luck on finding it

Hi Paul! The car is going great [touch wood] I got the new wheels, went for 19" AMG split spoke rims. Not sure the exact name but will get some pics up tomorrow.
