Implicitly trust a main dealer with it.

De-badge it.

I saw two Mercs de-badged this morning, and was annoyed as I wanted to know what model they were.

Personalised number plates are also very annoying.

Mine is very badged, with a personalised (of sorts) plate - and it's got black wheels too (though I didn't paint them).

Strangely it attracts many positive comments, thumbs ups and smiling pointy nod gestures.

I'm sure there are bad comments too, but I'm to busy managing the power/traction to worry about those.

Ordinary it ain't - which is why my ego forced me to buy it :thumb:.

Mrs TDE1 is terrified of mine. Just the size of it, compared to her Corsa. She still, after 4 years, thinks its "about 2 litre". ;) Star grille belongs on a SL, and bonnet badge wouldn't be at all out of place IMHO. :thumb: But on a big old E class.. nah. My wheels are silver, as is some of my hair, and I'm decades away from being a whippersnapper.

My wife told our friends that my C63 was about a 2 litre engine too.

She was told it was a 6.2 but all she remembers is that it's grey.

Clean it.

Honestly, I never crashed a dirty car.

Probably the best thing they ever did. Appeals to the modern younger generation rather than a handful of boring luddites who don't want to join the 21st century.

PS My wheels are black too :thumb:

I put the star 'back on' as I didn't like the flat badge, mind you ... it is a w210 so probably suits the earlier E shaped barges more than the modern models. I'm afraid I'm just a boring luddite at heart who thinks the world ended when Keith Moon died and Oxford bags disappeared!:D

Replaced my E63 badge on the boot-lid with a E200 badge:wallbash:

Also put 02 plate on car:doh:

Peeps liked my handiwork and thought I had done exceptional job of making it a E63 look a like:bannana:

True Sleeper or Wot:cool:

Having the letters AMG stuck on almost every model that has literally nothing to do with AMG.

It hardly ruins it though does it? I really don't get this obsession with why anyone gets upset over a badge even if it is on the 'wrong' car!

I'm specifically referring to the AMG trim models in every merc lineup. Honestly why have AMG badges, trims wheels etc when it's nothing to do with models coming out of the AMG factory. Surely it devalues the AMG brand when it's a trim option on every model.???
