The cost of Mobil 1 at Costco?

You got a bargain there. I've been buying my Mobil1 from Costco Birmingham and it's been £19.99 + VAT throughout. It looks like you paid that INCLUSIVE of VAT. I might call Birmingham to see if they have it at the same price.

Because I'm a mucky pup, I also bought two 6-packs of Torx white tissue rolls. Great value @ £11.55 + Vat.

Hi Bobby,

It may be that you are buying the petrol oil which was slightly more expensive in a 5ltr container IIRC?

Still great value though. 5,ltrs of Mobil 1 at Halfords was £46 - now on offer at £38 IIRC.

I buy both - petrol for C32 and diesel for ML270 - and both have been 4 litres and same price.

I need to pay a visit. Potential bargain hunting!!

They have now changed to 5l containers at Costco.

Ahh, didn't realise the ML was a diesel.

It'd be interesting to know if the Costco prices differ from branch to branch.

One thing I did notice yesterday was that the Castrol Oils I used last time were more expensive than Mobil 1. Probably because Costco buy more Mobil 1, or is Castrol now considered to be a superior product?

I don't use Mobil1. I use the fully synth stuff that VW recommend for their Passat engines.
Proven oil, it will still be good after 40,000 miles. it's long life stuff but I can't remember the name just now - and it's a damn sight cheeper than Mobil1.

PS. My car is a C270 CDI.

The oil I use is for PASSAT Diesel engines.

And do you keep it in for 40,000 miles?

If you remember...
Can I ask where the suggestion of a 40000 mile drain interval comes from?

4-6,000 miles between changes for me.

I treat regular oil changes as engine insurance.

If you can get the oil at the Costco rates and use the genuine MB filters, it is not expensive.

I buy my genuine MB filters from the dealer at around £8 each.
Is there anywhere else I can buy the real thing at a better price, say 6, filters at a time?

50,000km is the max service interval. Ambitious.....

Vital to use the right oil especially in the PD engines.

VW engine oil | Volkswagen engine oil

ok beat this asda mobil one half price 1 litre £4.25, sale now on

Alps is that the same Mobil one oil as mentioned in the post above by npuk?

CostCo currently selling Mobil1 in Gateshead store for £17.50 for a tub - "tub" being either a 4 or a 5 litre container, not sure exactly what the size is.
But whatever it usually comes in, it's £17.50 at CostCo in the North east. pretty cheap.
I use VW Longlife Diesel Engine Oil in my Merc, anyway. (C270 CDI).

Is that a promotional ("voucher") price or "proper" price?
