The EV fact thread

Cheapest new T7 California with a TSi starts at 73.5K
Makes a Buzz look positively good value.
I know, they aren’t electric though and have always held their prices very well, look at a 10 year old diesel one with reasonable miles.

Besides, there’s a £10k discount available.

True enough. Transporters always did hold their value; I always got what I thought was reasonable money for the T4s I sold at 3 years old and 300,000-odd miles.

How much £££££ in fuel? 😊

The old 5 pot TDi in my vans averaged 37mpg over those mileages. Not bad I guess as generally they were carrying at least half their 1200 kg payload capacity, spending roughly half their time multidropping (including Central and Greater London) and half their time on long distance specials - Sussex to Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen being relatively common. 10,000 mile service intervals meant they were at the VW Van place every month and a half roughly for oil changes !

I see a few every day, not loads but still they do stand out quite well which might skew the perception slightly.

Ideal vehicles for in and around cities/towns, as are huge amounts of such vehicles these days :)
Me too, had I not read this thread then I would have thought that the ID.Buzz had been relatively successful from a sales perspective.

I seem to see more ID.Buzz than I do new Transporters, that’s for sure. Our neighbour in Devon has. Really lovely one. I really rather like them.

I've yet to see a new Transporter on the road - they've not been out that long. The Ford version came out first ... apparently that's more expensive than the equivalent VW one?!

Just got home from a few days in Cornwall going to Lands End & Lizard whilst being based at Bodmin in my EV… never once did I have any range anxiety and the pre-cooling was a godsend with the heat. I often left the AC running in the car when we got out for walks etc… Charged the car up at the hotel free of charge and drove home to Northamptonshire. 🏆

I'll be driving to the Switzerland again next week.

The new IONIQ 5 has a larger battery and faster charging than the outgoing model. Let's see if it makes a difference - the breaks that I need to take will likely be more frequent and longer than what the car needs......

Well in Holland they are having to limit the use of charging points for electric cars.

Reason is that the grid system is struggling to !!!!!!
