i posted a week ago about blocked fuel strainers on various fourums. the general concensus was that it couldnt be that bad.
i was convinced it was blocked due to the fuel pressure fluctuating dependednt on how much fuel was in it, and the slow speed of discharge when i drained the tank to fit the new pump.
so i took the fuel tank out today, couldnt believe how badly caked up the strainer was.
the 'clean one in the photos below is from a 1993 320 that i have dismantled, the differance is amazing.
i have fitted the later tank, due to not knowing how much crud is in the old tank.
