The lost ones-the best of cars we sold

Here are mine (note - these aren't the actual photos of my cars):

Mercedes Pagoda

And a rather more "interesting", but very valuable, Panther DeVille:

Mine had the overheating design fault and needed a new fan. Panther said I would have to pay a few thousand for that (even though it was a design fault) so I sold it

And a Porsche 911 Turbo (but I didn't like how the turbo suddenly kicked in on mine when I didn't expect it!)

And a few Ferraris - but I'm too old to have good enough reaction speeds when driving one of those, and I like my comforts in the W140.

I don't miss my Austin Cambridge when I was very young! Or my Ford Popular which I learned to drive in. Or my W202 (felt like a Mondeo).

I do regret selling my Jeep Wrangler because of how novel it was (raised, big wheels, limited edition 4 litre model, full leather interior) but the engine was knackered (top speed 54mph or 2000 revs) and it had rust almost as bad as my C124. Still, I miss it.

I never realised Panthers were valuable being Vauxhall based cars and have never seen a DeVille in the flesh, though when I was at school a sports teacher had a Lima..

The doors on that DeVille look like they are off an Austin Maxi.

^ Seems a lot for an Austin 1800 with a Jag engine.

Nice mix of cars! I gotta ask (if it is not too rude) what was your line of work - very succesfully obviously! - to have a stable of cars like the Panther etc?

Inquiring minds etc.

I was behind a very famous furnishings and interior design business in the 1960s-1980s

Again, not an image of my car, yet even just looking at this pic bring back many fond memories and good times.

As my first car my father offered to by my first tank of fuel, after £50 of leaded flowed in (a full tank should only have been 20) we found the tank seem was split, never got round to getting that fixed.

Met it's end being used by Essex County Fire and Rescue as pratice car to cut up!!
