Been toying with the idea of purchasing a C63 AMG .

Any advice of what to look for, values/price to pay (Budget sub 20k),where to buy-maybe someone has one to sell ?

Cheers guys .

Ok so your budget is sub 20 grand. How much sub 20 grand lol?
And what car do you own at the moment?

Sub 20k will get a very high mile car or a cat d .......better to spend a bit more and get a properly sorted car...

Check the spec, it may not have the toys you would think, And I doubt you would get one at that money that's any good, What about a M3? its got a V8 and are in that price range, Better ( IMHO ) than a leggy / scruffy uncared for or repaired C63

You would need upwards of 30k for a good example model, I think low 20's with buy you someone else's problems.

Tread very carefully on models sub 25k – some may have been around the track!

I paid well over 20k for mine 58 plate pp with LSD and it had high ish mileage.

Around the track shouldn't be an issue, around a tree/telegraph pole should be.:D

As already been said, sub £20k is asking for problems.

Yup i'd go with the either M3 or put in atleast £5k+ to get a good one.

I own a Smart car with 72 bhp :) and an old Nissan with a little more.:D

Budget is around that mark - I do have a flexible friend :) .

As to BMW M3 - they don't do it for me-even though they are a phenomenal car. It's just something about the C63's . Can be no other unfortunately .

Hopefully now it's Christmas time , might be able to find one …..

If it's an R34 GTR I wanna see some pic's

Love them

Well just do your homework and if your serious about buying one make sure you don't buy a dog. Not that I think you could really buy one that's that bad ( I mean would anyone really wreck a c63) but for the sort of price your talking about its gonna be a high mileage one I should think.

Can I be controversial? Why do you want a C63? If it's a case of "I must have the top of the range", I or intend to use it around a track, or I love the look of it -then I guess nothing else will do. However, my C350 won't touch a C63 round a track but in the real world where there is a limit to how fast you will go on a public road. My 3.5 litre car can keep up with most people including Boxsters, Caymans and this week a TVR. Given that I'm not prepared to go near my 155mph limiter and given that a C63 gets to 60 only 1.5 secs before I do then on a run I bet I could arrive virtually at the same time as a C63 (awaits incoming!). Road tax is about the same but things like non AMG branded brakes are loads cheaper and mine uses less fuel. Given that £12k would buy a good C350 with 8k left of your budget for mods or a holiday! Oh and there are nearly 2000 C63s in the country and only 99 C350s like mine......just thinking aloud!

You do, however, only get the soundtrack of a C350 too :D

Yes you do but
a. It's a lovely V6 noise.
b. You can make it sportier if you want with x pipes or a brabus exhaust etc. c. A C63 can be a bit too noisy when you are trying to be discrete...

not for me

I see your point, I did just as you are posting, I went and bought a brand new E350 sport coupe just a few weeks ago but I only lasted 265 miles in it, It was just not a patch on the C63507 in any way, nice car, but not for me :fail saying that, now my 800 mile old C63507 is up for sale due to a " issue " with Merc Uk over my car having the wrong ( std c63 18s fitted ) wheels fitted and Merc uks ****ty attitude, Its a R8 V10 for me in the spring :thumb: and that will be the last merc I buy.

did they build you a special one at 3.5litres :-)

Joking asside you are probably right, look at the ra350 remapped car that has some pretty decent performance.

But I've had both, well I had an e350cdi convertable that was mapped before I swapped it for the C63. It was a lovely car and had plenty of performance. But it wasn't a gas guzzling noisey v8 :-)

Discrete is not something you ever are in a c63 I dont think? It announces it self on startup and then just carries on screaming look at me. Not for the shy thats for certain.

but I should add my convertable had less rattles and squeaks after 2 years and 30K miles than my coupe has from new... Plus my drivers seat it looking very worn, ok fair enough I am not averaged sized but I would have thought there wouldn't be signs of wear on the bolters after just 9 months.
