Thinking of buying C63 …..

Yep £20,950 with 88k miles.

No it's not that one mate, there was another one although like I say the spec was very basic...

The 58 reg black one sh58 I've seen in person, not the cleanest ever!

I can of course afford a set of wheels for the C63 its just Merc UKs " **** you " attitude that ****** me off, I have bought Three new Mercs this year, 2 I still have,

I did not twig they were 18s when I bought the car as I was offshore and had only glanced at the car in the showroom, As I told MERC UK I quite happy to pay for the oem 19s but they wont even give me a discount, full price or nothing, Bear in mind without the OEM 19s the cars worth £3.5k Less that one with the correct wheels,

But in the end I bought it so its down to me for being a dumb ass and not insisting on the correct wheels when parting with the money,

It has just spoiled the car for me now so unless I fall back in love with it its getting chopped, I am just scunnerd with it, And am very tired of being asked " Why does your car have the wrong wheels on it? Or is that 507 stripes on a std C63"

Merc uk are just saying you have bought the car now *uck off until you want a another one daft *unt ( or that's the way I see it )

BTW Merc Edinburgh have been great but its not down to them.

I think on another thread you said you didn't mind the 18s and someone actually ticked 18 on the order list. Was it a car someone ordered and cancelled? Did you get a discount in the first place? Perhaps might explain Merc's view. I''ll buy the 18s off you and use for winter if you want? I have 19s for summer.

*uck all ( so far )

Hi Dunc,

That's right, they (Merc UK) wont give me any sort of discount AT ALL, nada, zip, nothing, Its With AMG in Germany now so fingers crossed..

The only way it would hurt merc is that fact that unless I get something to cheer me up I will never buy another merc, And that's a shame as I like my daily driver ( new e200 ) and the 507 very much, And if the 507 gets chopped it will go private not back to merc,

My solicitor says I have a good case and I can also take it up with the finance company that own a fair lump of it for mis selling

I just wish it was sorted one way or another :wallbash:

But yes I would get a good price for the 18s as they could go on a vito van or the like where they belong...:D

Sorry if this is too much thread hijack but I find this a crazy situation (when you bought the car basically pre-ordered new). Obviously the principal here is not going to affect Mercedes in the slightest - in fact they will probably profit from your principal - if they get your 507, they will buy/sell at a profit but I'm on your side with this whole thing.

So they refused to supply the wheels even at cost or dealers discounted rate?

What about selling the 18s - they will cover some of the shortfall wouldn't they?

Good luck

Dunc

Is now a good time to ask your collective views on the service history of a C63 I'm eyeing up?!

Registered 10/2009,
Service 1 - 10/2010 at 9,500 miles
Service 2 - 10/2011 at 16,000 miles
Service 3 - 5/2013 at 30,000 miles

All done at MB.

Am I wrong to think service 3 is 7 months late? Understand ASSYST Plus suggests 12 months or 15,500 miles "whichever comes first"?

Thanks in advance!

Can I be controversial? Why do you want a C63? If it's a case of "I must have the top of the range", I or intend to use it around a track, or I love the look of it -then I guess nothing else will do. However, my C350 won't touch a C63 round a track but in the real world where there is a limit to how fast you will go on a public road. My 3.5 litre car can keep up with most people including Boxsters, Caymans and this week a TVR. Given that I'm not prepared to go near my 155mph limiter and given that a C63 gets to 60 only 1.5 secs before I do then on a run I bet I could arrive virtually at the same time as a C63 (awaits incoming!). Road tax is about the same but things like non AMG branded brakes are loads cheaper and mine uses less fuel. Given that £12k would buy a good C350 with 8k left of your budget for mods or a holiday! Oh and there are nearly 2000 C63s in the country and only 99 C350s like mine......just thinking aloud!

It's all relative. Someone with a C250 may argue the extra cost of a C350 doesn't justify the 0.8 sec 0-60 advantage. We rarely use products to their extremes. How many wear Goretex jackets in the City or drive a FFRR in Chelsea? I know I don't use my C63 as I could but it helps me get more out of it, more easily, than say a C350 so in the end I'm getting the benefit.

5k

I change my oil and filter every 5k, better safe than sorry!!!

Thanks H20 MRV, Mobil owe you a Christmas card! Hope they are reading....

I'll be a stickler for the oil changes once I have one too, but perhaps not that frequent.

I guess I'm just looking for assurances or warnings on whether that last 14,000 miles/7 month service interval could be classed as neglect or acceptable?

New long life oils are very good tbh, though I would do a oil and filter change asap then again 5k later, Then run the changes a bit later if your doing the miles, My good car only does 5k a year max, unless I go the Le Mans or the like !!

The soundtrack!!!!!
