Thinking of gettings some new alloys - Thoughts?

You are right - I am swaying to these now aswell. I think these are S104's, they look brilliant but they are very pricey indeed - circa £6K for the set without tyres.

Pricing sounds about right. Don't forget to add on TPMS sensors if you are keeping your OEM wheels for winter etc.

I had mine imported which worked out a little better. They are a good investment as HRE's are rare in the UK and retain their value. :thumb:

Thanks,

I am told I can go up to 315's. I was spinning up at over 120 at Goodwood recently so some more traction would be good.

I saw this post on MB World......:dk:

Ya they rub the inner plastic fender front and rear. SLIGHTLY. About the size of 2 quarters. Nothing to worry about, but I wouldnt go any bigger.

If you are worried about traction. Getting a softer tire will work better. Something in the 200 tread wear
range will hook up good on the street, but they won't last for long.

I run 320 TW on the rear, they spin but last a hell of a lot longer. I use a 275TW on the front.

Justin, how about some forged Carlsson wheels or are they too busy:

Alternatively there are some lightweight, Rotary Forged TSW wheels for less than 1/2 price of Carlssons and <10kg each:

Thanks Alx,

The carlsson's look good and I must say the TsW sight has a great configuration app and Malory's look good. Also as Paul suggested I looked at a S63 with some Brabus monoblock r's yesterday and they looked pretty smart as well!

Choices choices.

Third pic for me too, though I'd prefer them not to have the bolts.

A set of Panorama for my car is about £1400 incl. shipping by UK TSW rep Rimstyle.

There are sets in America that go cheap (about £1000 incl. shipping, taxes and duties) but they are in Bronze. Might be good for your blue car but I'd have to repaint them for mine so I'm still undecided.

This seller can supply them direct from TSW and cheap (contact him for correct design and offset):

that's a great price for forged wheels!!

that is what a single HRE wheel would cost, if not more.

and TSW seems to be as light.

almost too good to be true

I believe hre use the same die forging process as BBS but tsw use a rotary forging process which will not be as strong.

I spoke to a guy from TSW at Autosport '12 and he was saying about their new wheels and how they would turn the lightweight alloy wheel market on its head because of the price point they were going to go in at and he wasn't kidding, at that time they didn't have anything available over here but the prices were very competitive stateside. Quality of the wheels are really good from the display wheels they had, picked a nurburgring 20" wheel up and it was difficult to believe how light it was but they've got a lifetime warranty on the structure so obviously confident on them being able to perform to their billing.

I've decided to pull the trigger on a set of 19" Panoramas for my CL. They are 22 & 24 lbs front and rear compared to 25-26 & 27-28 lbs BRABUS wheels I have at the moment. I plan to get them stripped down and re-powdercoated as I can't quite see bronze/silver combo. They ship out from California today (via Fedex) so I should get them pretty soon. I will report on quality, fitment and weight when I have a chance. The best bit? 824 all in. And that's in dollars.

Does the $824 include shipping and UK taxes?

Only shipping.

Do you think the panorama style will suit such a big car? I think they would look great on a C63, just can't picture a CL though.

Here's a similarly designed set in 20's. I like it.
