Thoughts on Vettel ignoring team orders?

I also think that Red Bull would be terrified if Mark Webber announced he was 'considering' leaving Red Bull at the end of the season.

I think there would be a long line of potential suitors for his talent.
I don't think any of the top teams would be going for him Red Bull have had the best car for the last 3 seasons and the best he has managed is 3rd when Vettel has won the championship.

Webber in a Lotus or a Force India would be an exciting proposition.

Not my comments..... They were made by John Watson

I can't see why they would do it either, or fine him, as what good would that do? (Which was also suggested)

I know why he did it, he is a racing driver, and a good one at that, But they are a team, and he went against an instruction issued by the team
Just getting other people's thoughts

Sometimes the comments on here beggar belief.

Why would his own team want to lose the chance of points in a future race?

If he was working for sir Alex Ferguson he would be on the transfer list by now.

Abolishing team orders is unenforceable.

Plus it is a team sport - always has been.

Still posting. *** must be so proud. How's his advice on your avatar going.

Maybe ask Nick for some inside info. Under NDA. You know where you don't share privileged information.

Hilarious.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, the drivers are a small part of what actually wins races.

People bang on about XYZ being the best driver etc when it's down to the car more than anything...who's had the best car for the last five years or more...

What exactly are you hoping to prove/achieve ? Your tireless baiting and trolling is impressively consistent.

Newey is more important to Red Bull's successes than Vettel.

I can't help feeling that Seb probably thought 'What would Fernando do' and figured FA wouldn't voluntarily sit behind Massa. So he did what he did.

I don't like team orders. It's not a team sport when the drivers' championship takes precedence.

While Seb has been getting better and better at driving in the last couple of years he hasn't mastered the Alonso PR technique of showing no shame for your actions. And that's what was really disturbing about Sunday - SV supposed to have ruthlessly disobeyed team orders didn't come across as particularly ruthless after the event.

Seb should have just shrugged and said that it's about winning and the opportunity was there and that as he was faster he took it. So be it.

It is about the team though, this is my point; the car is the centre piece to whether a race is won or lost, who's driving it is a distant second.

I dare say that if you put one of the 'lower' ranked drivers in Red Bulls car, he'd not be that far from winning the race. (I nearly used myself as an example to drive Red Bulls car but I thought that might be stretching it a bit)

About what?

Why don't you tell us Nick. Best to here about you and *** from you or ***.

You know. Nothing confidential. Just share it with us all. Don't by shy. *** wasn't. He was happy to share stuff with you. You were happy to re post it wit us.

Just pretend you are back on Face Book with Redbaron and ***. Say what you really think of the forum. Redbaron. Aka. Wet Fart knows about NDA and confidentiality. Just like our ex mod ***.

Hilarious.

Do you need it spelt out?

Perhaps as Rebaron would say. You are a Mongolian.

Anyway. ***. Sends you post reports. You then repost them. Big clue here Nick. You have no credibility.

I thought this thread was about Vettell, perhaps private squabbles should be taken to PM's.

I was a little disappointed at Vettel as far as I'm concerned if he is genuine in his remorse, the next time Webber is right behind him at the end he will let him through. Will it happen I doubt it.

Gentlemen, I know nothing and care less about what you are on about...

Now, what were the rest of us on about? Oh yes...

Vettel is arrogant; most of the best drivers are. He is very talented; all the good drivers are. He really REALLY wants to win; all the drivers do. He is ruthlessly ambitious; all the F1 champions have to be, these days. He is also consistent where Webber is not always so, and the RB with a good driver is the combination to beat at the moment. He has advanced his chances of being champion again over all the other teams as well as Webber by doing what he did, and I suspect most of the drivers in the other teams would have done the same if they were in a position to do so. Will the team impose any meaningful sanctions? I doubt it; they're all in it to win, and Vettel is their best hope of doing so.

Sadly, these days nice guys don't usually come first. My opinion is that he should have eased up when told to do so. I would have; that's one of the reasons I will never be F1 world champion. There are a few others, of course...
