Nice C240 Elegance purchased ex Merc dealer @4 years with 25,000 miles and warranty.
1: Have got "ticking" on second position of ignition key.
Sounds like horrible sound when no juice in battery ( not true as starts straight away.)
Can be reproduced each time and continously so not likely fuel pump.
Sound appears to be from back of engine near bulkhead.
2: When putting into auto gear drive or reverse I get "squeal" like fan belt but not fan belt as that is checked.
Can be reproduced on demand by switching between drive, N,and reverse.
Appears to go away on movement.
Is this something terminal in auto box???
Tell me it is not so
Going into dealership next week so would appreciate any forewarning
