Torquing BHP GTG

I would definately be in for the ECU upgrade on my SL500.
Cambridge is no problem for me but I need the work done by july 15 at the latest......
I await in anticipation

We have currently arranged a 10% discount for a group booking. I tried for more but this is as much as they will offer. Price typically varies between £350 and £450 + VAT.

To everyone I PM'd if you could let me know your thoughts on their final offer of 10% and having a mini GTG in the Surrey ish area for those that don't have to go to Cambridge.

I would definately be interested if its not to late to join you, Cambridge is no problem for me I have the E320CDI V6 224BHP so should enjoy 278BHP and 624Nm, DMS have quoted £850+vat, but they cannot carry out the work at the moment due to an issue with the fuel pressure line on this model which they have not been able to get around yet? (at least I thinks thats what Mike said went, over my head a bit)

Have you confirmed whether Torquing BHP can do the work on your car? Not a problem joining the group - just need confirmations from everyone that was interested and get some deposits paid.

Yes they can do the work, :bannana: spoke to a chap called Darrell who quoted £499 +vat approx 3-4 hours work apparently.

Let me know when you are planning the trip for and then I will confirm/pay deposit. Weekends are best for me but if it has to be during the week then Tuesdays or Thursdays if possible.

The 'Cambridge' lot - i.e. everyone that wants to or has to go there can go whenever they like (individually or a group) once the groups deposits have been paid.

Is everyone happy with the prices?

While I respect Stats' work to negotiate the discount and I understand that was hard negotiating, I am personally dissapointed the company couldn't offer more. For me it's not really enough to make me jump to have this work done. For the amount I will save, I may as well do it in my own time and not have to commit to a deposit. I am also put off a little (inspiration to go wise, not that it isn't for good reason) that I have to trek to Cambridge on a week day. I just can't do it for a long time.

Did you not get a PM from me Greg? They can but you need to go to Cambridge for a chip replacement.

Ah - well you have a similar car to Ian - I think it was £499 before discount - they would need the car at Cambridge.

Ah, okay. So they can work magic on a M119 then?

EDIT: Couldn't see anything related to the '119.....any detail, Stats?

Currently cat-less and 326bhp....

The M119 had four or five different versions of engine management - the early ME-SFi's need to be chipped - in fact most 90s cars are done this way that can't be done through the ECU port because the data transfer rate is so slow. Ring Torquing BHP to confirm exact expectations if you're interested.

Mail sent. Lets see what they can do.

Surrey is no problem as my folks are there (Worcester Park). Likewise, Cambridge is a run down the A14...

It would have to be Cambridge as they won't do anything other than a live re-map on a mobile service.

Could you let me know...I'd be interested to hear what they have to say...thanks

Ive have received a quote from another company who offer the same service but are approx £100 cheaper so I will probably give these a try instead

I sent them an email last week and this is the reply:

Thank you for your enquiry, as turbo diesel specialists we can provide for all your tuning requirements from mechanical to electronic tuning.

The Merc E320 CDi engine we can take from 224bhp up to 280bhp with an additional 80lbft torque. All our maps are developed using the dyno to ensure correct fuelling for MOT compliance and to ensure it is within tolerance of engine and drive train components. The performance once remapped will be impressive and under normal driving conditions you can expect to see an improvement in fuel economy.

The remap is fully undetectable and comes with 14 day money back guarantee which gives you more time to trial the results on the road and ensure it is what you are after. We also carry out pre and post diagnostic work to ensure all is fine with your car.

The cost of the remap is £395 all inclusive for which we come to your location.

Best Regards

Graham

Price isn't everything - Superchips are even cheaper but is the product as good? The reason we approached Torquing BHP is they come recommended from other Mercedes users and I have spoken to them at length about their approach to remaps. If you can find satisfied customers then I don't have a problem speaking to Celtic Tuning about a group booking if the others are interested? Be aware that there are a lot of franchised tuners out there that don't actually know how their product works.
