Tuned w208 CLK S Spotted !

I'd need to see a dyno test for that one. That kit doesn't generate 350bhp from that engine. If Brabus only get 300 reliably from it and that includes porting the 2.3 to 2.6L im sceptical about 350bhp without getting HGF every trip. The charger pulley on the 230 can be swapped out for a smaller one to raise the psi from .5 to .7 to give 40 more bhp, you cant pull the airbox or replace it because of the 4 sensors on it as it winges to buggery about it and AMG never to my knowledge did a tuned exhaust for the 230k, of course you can go after market on the exhaust or get a Brabus back box etc. You might see a return of about 14hp or so from a full exhaust mod and taking out the 2nd cat. even throwing in a properly configured remap wouldnt see the 2.3 4pot go to 350hp imho.

Glad you didnt buy it man

I see if I can get my friend to joy the forum and explain what he has done :)

There is no way, never no how can you get a 2.3 lump to 350 bhp, I should know I have taken mine as far as is possible at 270 bhp there is no way even with a different supercharger you could get 350 bhp out of the 4 pot. Mine has the uprated charger and intercooler massive head cam and valve work + Brabus exhaust, so a supercharger swap alone would not add over 150 bhp

350 bhp is just not possible from this engine, when I was doing mine Brabus told me 280 bhp max and Riegel Motorsport in Germany who did all my porting polishing, bigger valves and cams and head work told me I could probably get 275 bhp

So something is definitely wrong somewhere, if that car had 350 bhp as a convertible i suspect it would also flex like hell

I see no reason not to get 350bhp out of it,although it depends how many of the original components have been replaced.

Did you have to send your engine away for the work?

Please expand, how do you see this working?

How can you port a head and increase the cylinder capacity?

The charger pulley on the 230 can be swapped out for a smaller one to raise the psi from .5 to .7 to give 40 more bhp,

0.5 psi to 0.7 psi? Might as well not bother with a charger at all.

Why do you think the standard airbox might be restrictive?

the seller has to be a dreamer or his friend is telling some porky's

i bet the friend sold him the car and told a lot of crap

to some people 200 bhp is quick if you have never driven a car with that bhp and the engine had 197 bhp from factory , factor in loosing bhp over the years and wear and tear

with the mods i would say 220 at most a push at 230 bhp

i had a guy who drove a c230 k tell me it was o to 60 in 5 seconds i said get in to my c36 and she would not do that

We don't know the full extent of the modifications to the car. 350bhp out of a 2300cc engine isn't unrealistic, reliable maybe not,it's attainable though.

We don't but you must have some ideas on how this could be achieved to say it's not unrealistic?

I'm not technical enough for that :-) I do however know of cars with 2.3 engines pushing out over 350bhp. I like to keep an open mind until all the facts are in.

2.3 turbocharged 4 pot would be easy to reach 350bhp but a 2.3 supercharged 4 pot, nahhh the guy's having a giraffe.

They'll be turbocharged rice racers no doubt.

Tuning a turbo car is very different ( easier ) to tuning a supercharged car.

EDIT :- Dr Nab beat me to it by 1 min !!

@ Frankie - Indeed they do! but the consensus seems to be that it isn't possible from the MB engine in question?

I wasn't on about turbo cars. So out of curiosity, what would limit the engine from making power?
