After touching up some stone chips on the bonnet I flatted it with some 2500 wet and dry to remove all the nasty swirl marks etc. The bonnet was then mopped back with some G3 and the with G10, then the whole car was given the Black Box treatment, first time I have ever used it and I must say the results were really really good. The paint looks wet and the shine is ....well lets just say I am happy. Yes it took a little time including mopping about six hours but well worth it..

Looks nice, a bet it didnt take long for the road dust to adhere itself doh... Gotta love a Just polished Black car :)

Nice results, have been looking at this in halfords for a while. Do you think it comparable to other products you have used in the past.

It shines head and shoulders the other products I have tried .

It really does give fab results on black paintwork. When I use it I give the car a final coat of nattys blue or petes 53 wax to help longevity of shine.

Thanks, interested as I have done all the dodo, Swiss, werkstat etc... But now just looking for something easy and works well.

I have been busy enhancing the 'black beast' too. Black is an amazing colour, but it's hard work.

After that treatment of TW black box a year ago the water is still beading off and when washed still looks fantastic. Saying that I will still give it another treatment just for that added level of protection:thumb:

I tried it and was not that impressed compared to other products available. It's okay but not great and it's a pita to work with.

Anyone know what the difference between this and the turtle wax colour magic stuff is

Colour magic is a one application, mildly abrasive coloured polish which masks scratches and small stone chips, includes a wax stick to hide larger chips (which I have never managed to do satisfactorily). Black box has a paint conditioner , black wax and detailing spray and comes with applicator pad and microfibre cloths and gives better results and lasts longer. It is relatively inexpensive and I consider it to be value for money considering the cost. Certainly makes my car's 23 year old paint look presentable.

Quite easy, if the paint is clean it is quick to apply the conditioner-if more grubby you need more elbow grease but once done it wipes of easily and the wax is easy to apply and buff off. I do mine once a year with the conditioner and reapply wax only at 6 months. Wear gloves or you will stain your hands!

Thats great thanks.
Whats its like to use?

My car is clayed twice a year and sealed. I found it hard work compared to other products.

In fact if your local you can have my nearly full set of BB, it's that good.

OK, but what was the overall finish like?

Finish wasn't bad but not great. Werkstat system gave a better end result, with less effort. However, that does cost more.

I can get the same finish as BB as a normal wash with poor boys QD as the last touch process.

Fair enough. Does it cover up swirls, or hide little chips?
