Hey folks,

My car is going in for a service soon. I don't know what was used before, but I *think* it was part synthetic 10w/40, or even a non-synthetic cheapo oil (the folk I bought from were basically cowboys, as I now know). My question is: what is the absolute best oil to use, and how much of it is needed? Also where can I buy it for the best price (note that I didn't say "cheaply", I'm willing to pay for the best oil, but the lowest price on the best oil would be nice :-)

Cheers,

-simon

The is a big debate about this but Mercedes Cov use Castrol SLX. Mobile 1 is also good. These are fully synthetic ultra low viscosity.

Best place to get the stuff - Go to France, for some reason it is really cheap out there. You are better off going to France and bringing back Engine Oil rather than wine, you save more per litre than wine :D

Only problem is Engine oil is not much fun at most parties (well the ones I go to anyway!)
