I was about to buy a new set of 215x55x16 tyres for recently purchased Mercedes 16x7.5 Algenib rims replacing my 15 steel rims . Just read that the load rating is important as its a 7 seater, can someone give me advise me what load rating I need , I read it had to be xl and perhaps some recommendations of economical tyre choice that would be suitable for my car .
I looked at the Falken ZE912 XL for 67pounds (Blackcircles delivered) .
I am also hoping that the increase in tyre width 215 from my existing 205 and 16'' from 15'' will give better precision and less boaty handling . Of course the alloys will look better than wheel trims too , though the Mercedes trims do look very convincing as alloys nonetheless.

(incidentally I paid 100euros for the alloys original finish, almost perfect condition though perhaps not the most attractive design ) .
