I've used Event Tyres previously to have some rears fitted, but just come across these people.

Now Event did an excellent job, very careful fitter and also patient, waiting for me to paint the balance weights he'd used before refitting the wheels, though the prices that tyres on the drive are quoting is a lot better. In reality they're priced similarly to the main players, but including fitting and balancing.

I was just wondering if anyone on here had used them? I'd normally buy from one of the on-line suppliers and get them fitted locally, but this is not exactly practical or cost effective, especially now that my local tyre fitter has retired, leaving me with only the big players to deal with, so may be tempted to have a go with these as they're down to nearly 3mm now.

A decent price Dave - I've just paid £190 supply only for the 285 Goodyears.

Check availability though - some offer what they can't supply.

Might be deals on specific sizes but just checked their prices as jswmbo beetle needs new boots and all online suppliers are more expensive than ATS Euromaster

I'll try them later in the week John, No real rush as I'm not using the car at the moment, so not overly desperate, though I took it out at the weekend and it was a bit "challenging" in the damp, hence the need to get some new ones on. Developing a very light right foot though. :D

I think it could be size related Ian, though the ones I've been looking at are a very good price. (285/30 R19 98)

Think you probably right the ones I need are pretty run of the mill and only 205's

Well, decided to go ahead and order these, just a case of why not really as the price is right.

Just had a phone call from a very pleasant young lady confirming my order and that they have the tyres in stock, she checked all details over the phone such as address and tyre sizes and explained that they'll be in contact again on the morning which I've booked (next Tuesday) to give me a two hour time slot.

Happy so far, hopefully be the same this time next week when they're on the car and I an use the loud pedal again. :D

Thought I'd just update this, as I hate threads being unfinished. :)

Got an email early this morning confirming my fitting time would be between 14:15 & 16:15 today. Then received a phone call from the fitter just after lunch, saying that he would be with me at around 14:00 if that was OK for me. Agreed to this and he rolled up spot on time.

Asked him where he wanted the car, in the garage (a bit tight) or outside. He was happy to do inside the garage but unfortunately his airline wouldn't reach, and he had PCL connectors whereas mine are Euro ones, so couldn't use them. Ah well. Moved the car out, he jacked it, took both wheels off and away to his van with them. Within a few minutes he had one back and was just going to fit it when I asked if he'd hang on till I'd painted the balance weights. Shiny silver is not good on black wheels. No problem, even brought me another three strips of weights to paint ready for the other side. :)

He finished off both wheels and then put them back on the car, Well, one of them, I'd already got the other side on. He was just going to torque them up when I asked to use my own torque wrench as it was already set. This turned out to be a good move as he was suggesting a figure of 150Nm whereas the MB setting is 130Nm, which we both checked up on and eventually agreed. The car's now sat back in the garage with it's new Goodyears on it and the guy was here no more than an hour.

So, would I recommend them?

Absolutely. Clean, professional and a good job well done. Under £400 for 285/30R19 98Y is excellent value to me, especially when that includes fitting and balancing. Not only that, they're a premium brand and were made in week 42 of last year so practically new as well.

Needing tyres, I went to the site.

Apparently they fit all over the UK but not in Glasgow .......

Looks decent. Very similar prices to Event Tyres for me. May try them.

Prices re within a pound or two of my local tyre indie.

No use to you other than to confirm a decent price, I have always been happy with their prices.

That's a shame LTD, I don't think they're fully Nationwide yet, they're Cheshire based apparently.

A lot cheaper for my size than Event could come up with...

Would normally use an indie, but mine's retired. The lazy git. :D
