Hi gents can i ask if anyone as fitted bigger tyres to there w123 E class it said in hand book 195X65X15 original tyre size But on the car now are 205 x6ox15 .This is the question ,i have purchased 2 as new Dunlop Sport 200 the size is 205 x65x15 can i fit these to my Mercedes ? Has anyone done this .:thumb:

205/60r15 is the standard tyre size for the 'sport chassis' option and were fitted along with slightly wider wheels. While slightly wider the 205/60 is also a lower profile tyre to keep the circumference as close as possible to the 195/65. Same deal with the optional bigger wheels i.e. a 225/45r17 tyre has near as damn it the same overall diameter as a 195/65r15

A 205/65r15 tyre is slightly larger circumference and will make the speedo under read slightly. More importantly the difference in circumference might also be enough to confuse the ABS system and it's illegal to mix tyre sizes on the same axle which'd be unavoidable if you puncture one of the 205/65 tyres... obviously plenty of cars use a space saver spare which is a very different width but the overall circumference will be matched to the proper wheels and you ain't passing an MOT with one fitted
