Upgrading a W201 2.6 to 3.2 24v

In terms of exhaust and brakes, what do you advice. In terms of suspension you guys already told me about Kony shocks and H&R springs.

Also consider Bilstein B8 shocks, they are very good and very popular amongst track users.

I want to ask you, are you doing this as a profession and looking to make money out of racing or are you just doing it purely as a hobby?

A lot of the 190 boys have upgraded to the W124 300/320-24 brakes. Anti roll bars from the 500E or E36 can also be made to fit.

The car is suposed to be just for track days, but as I said road usable, because I want to drive it in public roads to get there. No I'm not going to be a professional racing driver, it's just for fun. In terms of making money, just enough selling on the parts of the 124, to "build" the W201. Basically it's suposed to be a stress reliefer from a weeks work. :)

ive had 190's with both the 300 24v and the 3.2 m104 engines and my only advice is if you are having a manual box the only choice is the 300 24v engine and if going auto box the 3.2 m104 is the best.

I have no technical advice to give as i know sod all !

If its just a hobby, stick in a 3.0-24 or 3.2 and just have fun with it on the track - no point getting crazy with big mods.

Just one more question I just remembered. By any chance anyone ever mounted the supercharger coming for example from a SLK200 on a m104 engine, of course with manifold and other stuff modified?

Depending on which year SLK200 you go for, one had the M62 S/c and the later one had a M45. The M62 will according to Eaton is suitable for engines up to 4.0lt while the M45 is suitable up to 3.0lt but seems a popular installation by M-B & BMW on 1.6 & 1.8lt engines. I can't really assist much more as I too am learning as I go - purchased a C230K last year which is my first forced induction car ever!

Ok, thank you anyway. Seems that 230K are fitted with an m62 as well for what a read in forums a little bit all over the web, but I still haven't found one with the mod made, that's why I'm searching for more info. But thank you anyway ;)

Honestly I have no idea. I found some info about installing it on a m103 2.6, on a m104 none util now.

About the 2.6

I'd stick with getting the M104 up & running in the W201 first and then possibly look at installing an S/c. I suspect space is going to be issue for the S/c, it's piping and an intercooler.

I would keep an eye for something like that, even so the cheapest 190 16v I can find here in Portugal is a 2.3-16 for 5000€. :(
