Car
2010 bmw 325d m sport coupe.......2007 transit high roof ,LWB......
That looks a very nice motor, Have you spoken with the seller to make sure he is ok?

I tried ringing but he didnt answer,,fair enough,,I miss calls at times,,he text me later on.Id asked if his intention was to let the auction run till the end and how much did he think it was worth,,he replied he'd like £11500 for it which is way over for the mileage, but if it didnt make that then fair enough!!!!! ive looked through his feedback and he seems to have sold stuff hes bought (clothes)and never worn,,so maybe hes just got abit if dosh and doesnt mind spending it then gets bored..The whole thing seems genuine enough,he has his own plate on it,the amount of effort hes put into the auction description etc etc,,,just seems strange to me if he loves the car this much why he would list it with no reserve

All I can say mate is if it seems too good to be true.............

99p start??
I would say are you willing to risk loosing the deposit? if so, its got to be worth a punt

I suppose if you just need to get rid of a car quick for what ever reason then listing it with no reserve and starting low is an almost certain way to sell, theres enough people on ebay to ensure a car wont go for an amazingly low price, its always going to make around trade value,,,thats my theory anyway:crazy:

How about the bit at the bottom where someone appears to have "cloned" the listing?

that doesnt appear to be the sellers fault, theres scammers who steal pictures all the time, there was on there last night for a 2001 cl500

Can't see the reason to view the bank statement though....never heard of that one before !!!

ok,just been doing some detective work,,its says at the top "Relisted due to no communication from buyer!" so I searched his completed listings and it apparantly sold to "barry5358" on the 22nd july for £10600, when I checked out barry hes also from durham and has a positive feedback from m2rv_h for a pair of jeans for 99p,,,so looks like hes got his mate to put a proxy bid on the bmw last time and it back fired,,,,but,,he could have done the same this time because the bidders are hidden!!! ive just tried ringing again and no answer,,so i text him and said i realy need a chat befor i bid so he says hes going to ring me in a half hour!!!

Sometime there is more than what meets the eye to these so called "Bargains" on ebay when it comes to cars.

It is usually very easy to get what you want on your car on Autotrader if it is that good and straight, so why someone would want to risk it all on a no reserve auction to me is suspicious.

Also I don't understand as to why he cannot answer the phone from a buyer with so little time to run on the auction.

Perhaps there is a reserve and your seller may have had a freind bid to ensure it didn't go for less?

If you have any doubts about the car or the seller, don't bid, the world is full of cars anyway and another will soon be along...

It takes either a brave or foolish person to part with that kind of money for a car on ebay without seeing it and verifying the credentials of the seller.;)

The price isn't mega cheap I think, plenty of cars around- Is a buyer's market. If it goes for less than 10k would be worth a punt.

Best to treat eBay as you would a private ad. Bid what you want to pay, and crawl all over it when you get there. If it's not up to scratch, walk away.

Whenever I sell cars on eBay I do so on this basis- It is no skin off my nose if someone bids and then does not like the car. I will NOT haggle on price however!

Looks a decent car but the seller has already shown some dishonesty by shill bidding rather than using a reserve.
IMHO the 2.2 is a bit under-powered in the heavier convertible body.

Check this out.....this is what I got from a scammer in Eastern europe a couple of years ago....I knew it was a scam as it was one of those "Too good to be true" deals on ebay, so I bidded for the hell of it.....he claimed that the car had been shipped from the UK to Eastern Europe and now he wanted to sell it....Anyway after leading him on for a while, I finally reported him to Ebay.

I guess there must be loads of people who fall for that too good to be true bargain and actually land up transferring money !!!!

Anyway, here are a couple of the several emails that he sent to me. The

Hello,

I'm very sorry but I'm afraid I can't provide you the chassis number, engine
number and V5 Registration cause the car is already crated with all the
papers inside. I signed for the papers and took the car to TNT Cargo Express
just like Square Trade instruct me to do. Also they verified all the car
papers and approved me to crate the car. I hope you understand my position
and maybe you agree with my terms and we will have a great deal and I assure
you that you will be very satisfied with this car. I hope that will not be a
problem because if it is I will contact eBay Square Trade and ask them to
advise.

Now I want you to know that all is set and I just wait for Square Trade to
confirm that the payment has been made and after that I will pay the
shipping and insurance and the car will be shipped your location.

Ps. The numberplate is: WG03 UTR

Best Regards,

Hello,

Done deal! Congratulations! I spoke with Square Trade and they will send you
the notifications of the payment to finish this deal with me. If you receive
the notifications from them, please make the payment and send the info to
Square Trade so they can check the transfer and immediately I will start the
shipping to you and after you receive your car they will provide me the info
of the transfer to pick up my money.

Waiting!

Very important! When you'll make the transfer, do NOT tell to Western Union
that you are making a payment for a purchase over the Internet, because they
will charge us both and I already support the shipping and insurance costs.
Better tell them that you are sending the money for a relative of yours.
This way, I think you will even pay lower fees.
I hope you will enjoy driving the car as I did.

Regards,
