That's in seconds!!!

Should I call the MB assyst? How do I stop it?? Let it run all over the road? Am home now.

Thanks

looks like engine oil

have you looked under the bonnet and under the car to see were its coming form

If the car has mb assyst give them a call and get them to have a look.

Could be a number of things causing the leak. Might be a split pipe, oil cooler etc.

The filler cap is still there! It is engine oil, the warning to top up came on as I moved it to the road.

Called MB mobilo. They'll call back in 30min, probably have no oil by then.

I'd get a torch and see if you can see where it is coming from.

I had an oil cooler seal go on mine but that is on the drivers side - that leak looks pretty central. You should get some dash warnings if the levels are low.

Wouldn't do any harm to call MB Assyst, although I imagine they will just take it to the dealer....

Oops a bit late!

Just call mobilo and let them deal with it. The car is under warranty, so even if it goes bang you get it repaired for free.

I once had a new engine after one went Pop at 9,000 miles. Happy days.

Looks like you may of caught the oil cooler and damaged it. Sits right under there from memory!

How old is the car ?

Mine was spilling oil at a fair rate within a week or two of picking it up. Apparently some 2012 production cars went out with a defective seal. All fixed under warranty but required a couple of days in the workshop as the gearbox had to come out amongst other things.

Either way call Mobilo ASAP as others have said.

May 2010 car, which I bought used in Sep 2013. About 26k miles.

A local engineer will be out in 90 min to inspect and confirm whether recovery needed. Then they'll order recovery. Glad I'm home, gonna be a long step by step evening before I get a rental car replacement.

I'd advise to book couple of days off, until the car is sorted. They tend to get nicked after when left for repair...

At least you can have a cuppa in the warmth whilst its been examined.

I refuse the courtesy car so I can stay for the day on nice coffe and polite and friendly staff...

The chap from the local company was very nice and honest. He suggested I have the car recovered in the morning instead and not leave it overnight in a pound that is not the best.

Unfortunately there weren't any nice cars in the Croydon showroom last time I was there so I'll take the courtesy car and get as far away as quickly as possible.

How is it solved RWD?

It's no longer urgent, and the car is set to be recovered. Otherwise I can imagine someone complaining why this thread marked 'urgent' is still open a year from now ;)

I only wanted immediate next step advice, I'm not planning on fixing it myself. But I'll happily post updates once the MB guys take a look and tell me the official verdict.

Turns out it was a seal on the oil cooler and apparently not under warranty. We shall see about that!

In the meantime I have a ML250 CDI.

Push them hard, that will be a bumper off job plus the oil - so could be pricey.

What bugs me is what if oil loss resulted in engine seizure, are they saying it's not covered??

Gonna be treating my car like a 20 year old, checking for puddles all the time. My ocd was bad enough doing a walk round the car each time before getting in.

Wiring and seals are excluded from Tier 1 .
