hi there guys,

I have a w203 c200k, i started the car, it started really rough and the instrument cluster did not light up straight away...after a few seconds the instrument cluster lit up, with low brake fluid warning ( i have plenty in there), the speedo was not working, nor the revs or the fuel gauge. So i then took the key out and tied again, same thing happened.

So i took the key out, locked my car and the speedo is still lit up...it looks like its going to stay that way as well...i will quickly check if its turnt off. But it looks like the battery is going to get drained.

I had a similar problem a while ago...i changed the battery it didn't happen again and willow cleared some faults(faults that usually appear when jump starting the car) for me, it looks to me a fault with the instrument cluster.

Has anyone had a similar problem? And any advice will be much appreciated thanks

I just going to check if the car is back to normal...fingers crossed.

Doing alot searches on the internet, a few people had the same problem and everything is pointing at the eis and or sam unit...there's one guy who had the exact problem, but didn't post on how he got on and what part was at fault also the MB specialists reading this are these dealer only parts or could you buy second hand parts and recode them?

ok this does not make sense...the car has just started every thing is working fine??? Any senior memebers got any advice on what's wrong if anything is wrong with the car??

thanks schwarzesAMG, would it be faulty, or would it be more like water or moisture damage? Also could i install a facelift front sam?
