Afternoon

My garage had the car in to do an oil change, and I am assuming they didn't put the middle and left hand side retaining torx bolts back in. 5 days later on the motorway, what sounded like the engine blew a hole, with no warning lights visible I got to an SOS lay-by and had a look under the car. Found the undertray hanging down, what looks like a brittle fracture on the trimon both the missing bolt locations. I'm chasing the dealership to replace as we did 1500 or so miles in France the week before with no problems, the garage do an oil change and as soon as I travel above 40 since the change, this happens.

I cannot see a part number. But just incase the garage tell me to 'jog on' I want to have something more substantial than duct tape holding the bottom on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and any advice for dealing with the dealership would be grand too.

Dealerships tend to suck the oil out through the dipstick tube these days, specifically to avoid having to remove the undertrays.

I thought so too. However the complimentary visual health check video shows the 3 bolts in place before any work was done. I just find it coincidental for them to come loose and both fall out at the same time.

Far too much of a coincidence!
You still have the video? Show it to the dealer ..

Might have hit some road debris …or at least that what the dealership might say ?
The part number will be written on it ?
Maybe ask MB to make a contribution to the new undertray , emphasising your continued ownership and servicing with them blah blah
